A Renaissance in Patriotism: A Series of Blogs by Blockhead (1)

As of today, I have decided to start my first ‘series’ of blogs, whereas there is much to be said.  After posting an earlier blog, a good friend and excellent writer reached out to me in the comments section (see previous blog history to see her words verbatim). Allow me to highlight some of her words that stood out to me the most at this time: “Freedom and honor and patriotism stand on the brink of oblivion. Only those with the fortitude to defend it can drag it back…” I appreciate her thanking me for “standing in the gap and keeping the darkness at bay”, but I also appreciate you readers who will join us in this journey. The author of War and Peace Leo Tolstoy’s diary entry December 1900 reads as follows: “To be able to affect others, an artist has to be an explorer, and his work of art has to be a quest. If he has discovered everything, knows everything, and is just preaching or entertaining, he makes no effect. Only if he keeps searching, then the viewer, or listene...

A Call for the Team to Take the Field again...

As I sit in my study alone tonight, trying to find the words to write, I have a song playing in the background to assist me as I piece this together: "Clear the Stage" by Ross King. It's meant for all of my somber thoughts and my attempt to become selfless once again, admitting that I am in need of a Savior. We all are. I am thankful for Jesus paying my debts on Calvary's tree. I want to crush the idols in my life and serve wholeheartedly again. And as I look over at my daily devotion, the Scripture is applicable, because it is desperately needed for me to increase my capacity to experience Him again: "May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." Ephesians 3:19 Ironically, the suggestions for me in my YouTube browser brought me to the song "Masterpiece" by Danny Gokey just as I finished writing the Scripture from Hi...

A Veteran's Thoughts on a Monday Morning

This morning, I had no intention to sit down with my cup of coffee and blog. However, I stumbled across a blog my friend on Facebook posted from a website entitled, "Bullsh**ist". Now, I'm not advocating the title of this blog since it's a little bit vulgar. That's what I'm supposed to say, isn't it? Any promoting another veteran's blog with the truth sprinkled in can discredit ME if there is profanity in it anywhere, right? God forbid my LinkedIn profile not be seen as substantial or as unprofessional by any means. If you wish to read his words instead, here is the link. I understand. His words are so true. https://bullshit.ist/the-conversation-about-war-and-our-veterans-we-refuse-to-have-a95c26972aee Anyways, I read this and my wife now thinks that she has done something to upset me, when in reality all that happened is I have identified with this veteran through his words that he was brave enough to share with the internet. It has revived memori...
